The national minimum size of capture is 220 g, except in Lake Ellesmere where 140 g minimum size was instituted (Ref. 9072). Found all year round in North I.; seasonal in South I. where most hibernate during winter (Ref. 9258). Potentially being spread into areas that were naturally free of eels (Ref. 52336).
